Working from Home

We closed up shop at the Stillwater location last month. After 5 years of great business, it was time to move on. I'm still doing contract work for AT&T, just not as much. We moved the business line to our house and can handle all calls here. We still have the Edmond location, sort of, the line is listed in the OKC book and gets a lot of calls, Kitty still works those calls for us. We no longer have the physical location.

Most of you know what a gift directly from God we know that the Phone Center was, so to make this change was big. We didn't do it without checking with Him ...several times! We sensed God saying it was time. I knew that I needed to make sure my time was full with the things He wanted me to do though. I prayed for direction about that and then found some volunteer work in a few places.

I ended up at Stillwater Life Services pregnancy center and what a work God is doing there. They help women who are in a crises pregnancy by equipping them with information and caring people to listen. I feel it is exactly where He wants me to be now. Rachel's little closet is also connected as a place these new moms can go to get necessities for their babies. I will do some work there also, not sure the times yet.

I've be able to help with the food bank once a month at our church, I've been able to do this since October. It's a full day of work, and so rewarding as you see over a hundred families come through to get their bags of groceries for the month. Helping to feed the hungry, and maybe not just physically. One woman who had been coming to get groceries every month began helping us in the back, and then I saw her at church the next Sunday. Even when you think you are simply helping a few people with some groceries, God is at work in much bigger ways. I'm so glad I have the opportunity to be a part of this ministry.

And then there's scrapbooking! It's more of a hobby...Of course it includes all the things I love like building friendships, writing, taking pictures and preserving the moments in our lives that we want to remember and pass on. It's my way of expressing love to my family and friends in the form of a creative outlet. My husband is like, "that's great dear, could you make a little money at that?" Well, funny you should ask, why don't I check out the benefits of becoming a creative memories consultant? I'm gathering some information on that now, so we'll see and we'll pray.
